Company Overview
BJWSA is a public, nonprofit organization created by the South Carolina legislature. We are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of eleven members, who have been appointed by the Governor of South Carolina. We consist of approximately 160 employees.
BJWSA treats and delivers an average of 20 million gallons of drinking water each day to over 48,000 retail customers. We also supply drinking water to wholesale customers who resell or redistribute our water to their residents. Overall, we serve over 150,000 Lowcountry residents with drinking water.
We also collect, treat, and recycle about 7 million gallons of treated wastewater safely back into the environment each day.
